Remnant of Hope

Remnant of Hope was born from the truth found in Isaiah 43:1–3: that we are created by God, formed by Him, known by name, and never abandoned in the waters or the fire.

As mothers of children with special needs, we often walk through deep waters, heavy seasons, uncertainty, grief, exhaustion, advocacy, appointments, diagnoses, questions, and battles that others may not fully understand. But God promises that when we pass through the waters, He will be with us. When we walk through the fire, we will not be burned. The storm will not swallow us because our Creator is near.

We believe our children are not mistakes. They are not overlooked. They are not less than. They are beautifully and intentionally created by God, known by Him, loved by Him, and filled with purpose. We believe mothers are also deeply known, seen, strengthened, and called by God in this journey.

Remnant of Hope exists to remind moms that they are not alone. We walk together, pray together, encourage one another, honor our children, and hold onto the hope of Christ through every season.

Hi, I’m Megan! I’ve been married to my husband, Dakota, for eight years, and together we’re raising three amazing kids — our 9‑year‑old daughter and our two boys who are 7 and 1. I’m a certified CCMA and loved working at our local hospital, but life took a turn when our middle son needed more support. Choosing to step away from my career to care for him was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but also one of the most meaningful. Today, I’m grateful to be a stay‑at‑home mom while also helping my husband run our family business.

I was born in Arizona and spent my early years in foster care before being adopted and moving to Missouri with my two sisters. That experience shaped me deeply — it gave me empathy, resilience, and a heart that naturally leans toward serving others. Over the years, I’ve poured that into many roles: interning at my childhood church, leading youth camps, teaching Sunday school, helping with VBS, serving on the welcome team, running a Bible study with my husband, and now helping lead the Remnant of Hope support group.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, and I’m married to a man who also has ADHD — so neurodivergence is woven into our family in a very real way. Add in raising kids with ADHD and nonverbal autism, and I’ve learned firsthand the highs, lows, and beautiful chaos of this life. I understand the exhaustion, the appointments, the therapies, the victories, and the heartbreaks. I understand the isolation. And I understand the strength it takes to keep showing up.

When I do get free time (which most special‑needs moms know is rare), I love Jesus, being with my family, reading, and anything creative — drawing, coloring, embroidery, all of it. My daughter and I started gardening together, and even though we stuck to flowers this year, watching something grow because we cared for it brings me so much joy. I love being outside, and our family has become big road‑trip people. Our goal is to see all 50 states before the kids leave home.

💛 Why Remnant of Hope Matters to Me

I’m passionate about Remnant of Hope because I am that mom — the one who has felt alone, burnt out, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn except to God. I am helping to lead this group to be the support I desperately needed when our journey began. My hope is that this becomes a safe, judgment‑free space where moms can learn from each other, connect deeply, and let their children be exactly who they are — beautifully and wonderfully made.

Hi! I’m Amanda!

I have been married to my husband, Mike, for 23 years. I am the mom of a precious little girl in heaven, and earth-side I have three children — a 22-year-old daughter and two sons who are 20 and 16. So needless to say, I am currently in the thick of parenting teenagers and young adults!

Along with being a wife and mom, I wear (and have worn) many different hats. I have served as a Women’s Ministry Director at my church, Sunday school teacher for various ages, youth and teen leader, VBS helper and Bible teacher. I am also the founder of My Creator Calls Ministries, the founder of Remnant of Hope — a support group for mamas of children with special needs, from childhood through adulthood —and I work as a paraprofessional for our local school district.

Some of my favorite things are Jesus, spending time with family and friends, working out, speaking, teaching God’s Word, reading, history, all things fall, coffee, forests, and mountains. I absolutely LOVE snow!

One of my greatest passions is encouraging, empowering, and equipping women from all walks of life to know their Creator, grow in their walk with Him, and discover their identity in Christ. The healing and freedom I have found through Jesus is something I deeply desire for every woman to experience and know for herself.

Why Remnant of Hope?

Because I, too, know the isolation and challenges that can come with parenting children with varying special needs. Over the years, I often found myself without many women or other mamas in my inner circle who could truly understand or relate to that journey.

Remnant of Hope was created from a desire to build the community I longed for — a place where mamas can come together, lean on one another, encourage each other, equip one another, and stand together through every battle and every season. We were never meant to walk this journey alone. Together, we are stronger.

A Few Fun Facts About Me:

I love:

• PJ bottoms

• Fun, cozy socks

• Cozy blankets

• Cute mugs and straw cups (I may have a slight obsession 😂)

• Rainy, cloudy, dreary days

• Nature and being outdoors

I don’t really have a favorite color because I love so many! I tend to lean toward yellow and certain shades of green, but each color has a different feeling and meaning to me, so I can never choose just one.

I also don’t have a favorite food — it completely depends on my mood! Although, I definitely have several foods I know I don’t like.

I love quiet moments, country drives, walks outside, and peaceful places. I tend to get overstimulated by lots of noise… yet somehow I married a drummer. 😂
